mysqldump : ERROR 2002

hello,

I am using a Debian and i've changed mysql default settings.

contains of /etc/my.cnf :


[mysqld]
skip-networking
socket=/home/mysql/mysql.sock


contains of /usr/local/directadmin/conf/mysql.conf


user=da_admin
passwd=xxx xxx
socket=/home/mysql/mysql.sock


Everything works fine with this settings... except when i try to use mysql in command line.

example :

mysqldump -uda_admin -p --all-databases > /root/alldatabase_dump.sql

mysqldump: Got error: 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) when trying to connect

Why mysql try to connect /tmp/mysql.sock instead of /home/mysql/mysql.sock ?

Do I forgot something ?

Can you connect using mysql instead of mysqldump?

no, i can't. i've the same error with using mysql...

Add this to your my.cnf file.
