importing from ovh

Hello,

Is it possible to import an account from OVH into Directadmin ?
Its easy to manually import data files and the databases. what i need specifically is a way to import email.

CPU_CORES setting

First, many thanks for a great utility here. I've been using DA and custombuild for several years and it really makes life easy - it just works!

But (there had to be one of those, right?) I've now come across a problem. I have a relatively small but high-spec VPS - Virtuozzo/SLM with 512MB and 16 shared cores. With the CPU_CORES variable being calculated automatically in the script, build php (specifically make -j 16) crashes when compiling PHP 5.3. Running top in another window while it's running shows a lot (presumably up to 16) of cc1 processes and the memory usage spikes until everything gets killed by the hypervisor. Judging by another VPS with 1GB SLM / 16 cores it seems to be trying to use about 600MB+ in addition to the 200MB or so of background usage.

So my workaround was to remove the line (63 or thereabouts) of the build script that sets CPU_CORES to 16 and let it default to the initial value (1). This works but of course I'm going to need to hack it again every time you release a new version. And who knows, perhaps I'm not the only one seeing this problem although I can't find any other references to it. So do you think it would be worth while adding an override value for CPU_CORES into options.conf? Or is there a better workaround for this that I'm missing? TIA for any suggestions.

Problem with MYSQL Process and using phpmyadmin

I am not a webmaster but my sites went down a few days ago and my webmaster has decided to disappear so I am in need of help if someone can?
My server company has sent me two messages which are below but I do not understand what these mean and dont know how to fix the problems......can you help me please ...?
My sites just keep continually coming on line then timing out near enough straight away and this has been going on for a few days as I already mentioned.

Here are the two statements that the server company has mentioned :

1.mysql process

UPDATE peers SET uploaded = 0, downloaded = 0, to_go = 0, last_action = NOW(), prev_action = '2012-0

2.you still have problem with your script and it�s database rules.
Concretely command UPDATE peers SET uploaded = 0, downloaded = 0, to_go = 0, last_action = NOW(), prev_action = '2012-0 is doing the problem.

ssl troubles

so i got this wierd thing going on , i got a free rapidssl trial as i though i would try it out ,but evry time i enable ssl and use Use
a symbolic link from private_html to public_html - allows for same data in http and https then it goes mad when i visit my website via https://domain.org
it screw up my entire blog why that is i have no idea

i issued the ceritficate as domain instead off www.domain as they say you should,
but when i issue certificate to www.domain it does not work at all but i have might
configureted server and cert key wrong should i generate a csr in ssh or via controle panel ? and if so should i chose at country us but what about zip code ? or

should i chose the settings from my domain provider to get the correct ssl ?
i am sorry about my english but i try to explain my self in best manner

atm it seem like i fixed it , but one thing that bothers me is that even picture are located on webserver the site seal doesen get blue

PHP 5.3.11 cgi with Suhosin extension solved

Hello all, just adding my procedure for adding suhosin extension to PHP 5.3.11 cgi. There are extensive how to's but nothing worked for me. Tried quite a few of them and always got this error

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: suhosin: Unable to initialize module
Module compiled with module API=20060613
PHP compiled with module API=20090626

Prerequisite: you can have any version of php cgi installed only difference is the Suhosin version that you need.

My current setup is PHP 5.3.11 suphp with zend

PHP5 installation directory : /usr/local/php5/
PHP5 ini : /usr/local/etc/php5/cgi/php.ini

if yours is different please change the paths in commands.

1) change directory to php bin

cd /usr/local/php5/bin

2) Download suhosion/untar and go to directory

wget http://download.suhosin.org/suhosin-0.9.33.tgz
tar xvf suhosin-0.9.33.tgz
cd suhosin-0.9.33

3) PHPIZE with correct phpize : check your path after sudo

sudo /usr/local/php5/bin/phpize

4) Enable and configure suhosin : check path for correct php-config

sudo ./configure --enable-suhosin --with-php-config=/usr/local/php5/bin/php-config
sudo make
sudo make install

5) You will get message that extension has created in file:

/usr/local/php5/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626

we need to add this to php.ini file to load suhosin.so

1) if you already have path configured in php.ini or want to move it different extension directory then just add/edit path in php.in file move suhosin.so to that directory from :

/usr/local/php5/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/suhosin.so

to that directory and add line in extension block

extension=suhosin.so

2) Or you can simply add full path in php.ini.

find the extension block and add this in the start

That's it, check your php version
php -v

How do I do that?

It seems that htaccess is not working properly. I took a website from one of my cPanel servers and transferred it to my new DA Server exactly as it was, and my rewrites are not working and coming up with 404 errors.

How do you assign domains to IPs?

Whether the nameserver can be the name of any domain, of a domain I don't own, and whether there's a problem if the domain of the nameserver is the domain name of one of the domains I want to setup on directadmin.

What netmasks do I use for the additional ''free'' IPs. The server IP is on 255.255.255.248. Am I doing something wrong if I let the free IPs be on netmask 255.255.255.0?

I would like to know how to assign the domain to the additional IP. It keeps resolving to the server IP.

And I would like to know why the server IP claims to have a user, even though I don't know what it's talking about and its ''reseller'' column is blank. And why the reseller for the additional ''free'' IP is ''admin'', even though its user column is blank so seemingly claims to have no users.

What am I doing wrong when placing my domains in DirectAdmin?

I have two domains and two IPs to stick them on. One of the domains needs to be on a dedicated IP, alone, to have its own SSL.

The other domain has to resolve to the other IP. But all I seem to be able to do is enter User leve on DirectAdmin and add domain there, but when I do a whoislookup they both resolve to the same IP. Even if I'm logging into DirectAdmin from the other IP.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,I would like to know if anyone of here encounter this problem b4 n how u all solve it?

I tried to install an e-commerce application after I uploaded its files to my ftp. But everytime I try to initialize the install application from the URL browser, the browser prompt me the 505 internal server error as below print screen......

I tried to verify if the application that I uploaded is in the correct root file (public_html), check if the URL that I typed on the browser is correct (http://www.domain name.com/install/index.php),set the
permission level of the related files all to 777, but it still having the same problem....

How can I overcome this problem?:confused::confused:

Gitosis as git server

I am trying to install the gitosis to create my own git server but still doesnt work.

I followed this guide http://www.ivankuznetsov.com/2010/05...on-ubuntu.html but when I doing the clone the password isn't accepted.

I added the gitosis user to the sshd.

My OS is a debian, it's seems that is not using the public key to authenticate the clone but is using the default ssh.
