Named/Bind update?

Hello guys, my current Names version installed on the server is: 9.2.2, i am alitel confused, becouse i saw newer versions then this one over the internet, but no one here have ever talked about updating it.

do you think this update is needed? do you thing some one could do a howto install guide?

How did your copy of named get installed?

If from an RPM for your distribution and you run yum, then your version will be updated automatically.

Many distributions keep their own trees and backport fixes into their version number scheme.
