Server IP Problem - Urgent assistance needed

Hi,
I have 2 IP's on which I can access a server from. At the moment one of them is timing out/not responding, and all sites on that IP address are timing out when you try to access them. The other IP addess is working fine. What are the possible problems here? Please PM if you need more details or can take a look.

Have you had a look to see if you can reach the IP at all, could be that your firewall is blocking the IP Also check with your datacenter to see if they are blocking the IP for some reason.

Thanks for your reply.

It has just this minute been fixed - it turned out to be a problem with the datacentre. Apparently they did an 'arp clear', whatever that is, and the server was reachable again after that.

For more information google on "arp cache" (with or wirhout the quotes).

When an IP# formerly used one one server is switched to another server, you have that problem.

But most data centers clear the cache's automatically on a regular schedule.
