DA errorlog attacks?

031017 12:40:15 Found invalid password for user: '@localhost'; Ignoring user
I got this from the file "server.***.com.err", so I presume this is the error log of DA. What exactly does this mean? Somebody tried to login using root?

Is this done via SSH or via the DA control panel? Since I take it it's the DA error log?

Hello,

All DA logs are located in /var/log/directadmin/*

That isn't the log format for DA, but mysql stores it's logs in .err files, so It's probably an attempted root login to mysql.
