I would love to see DA with MailScanner and Clamav.

I must say you guys should make a option in ADMIN PANEL where there must be option if the person wanted to enable MailScanner like how you have setup for SpamAssassin.

I hope to see that in your next release.

MailScanner does not support per-user based configs. So I don't think that will ever happen.

Exiscan should work like a charm, why use mailscanner instead?

Only reason I like MailScanner is because it archive emails plus it has a very strong Mailscanning system if you could tell me how I can enable Exiscan. I will be very happy

Please use this next time: http://www.directadmin.com/forum/images/da/edit.gif]

Ok... There are both Exiscan and MailScanner tutorials. Although I currently recommend Exiscan. My main mailserver has MailScanner but it keeps getting overloaded when there's a lot of spam.
Transferred a number of domains to another server with almost same specs, and with Exiscan there aren't any problems.

Look on the forums for Exiscan and/or SpamBlocker for that tutorial :) (which is almost standard).

edit: images are turned off here...

i would like to see something like this for DA. it's for cpanel and is 3rd party but i have heard amazing things about it.

http://www.configserver.com/cp/mailscanner.html

it pretty much has everything "MailScanner / SpamAssassin / ClamAV / DCC / Vipuls Razor -"

and my friend sais it works amazing and load hasn't gone up way too high on a server with 500 domains.

pretty sweet.

Looks interesting.

And could be implemented for DA.

I don't think I'd want to do it, though, as I don't believe in scanning after the email is accepted.

For what it's worth, VirusBlocker is almost ready for release, and when it's released it will work much more efficiently than MailScanner could.

Jeff ! Could you please add that Email Archive feature in your software. That would be soo good.

As I like to keep a copy of my incoming and outgoing email into some /backup/maifile

Let me know if thats possible.

If John or Mark want it to be standard in DA, I'll put it in.

Otherwise it's not my decision to make a fundamental change to how DA works.

So while I could, I won't unless I'm asked to by the folk at DA.

At least not as a standard feature.

After playing with DA for a while now, I must say I like it. Now keep in mind I have only ever used the Raq line for my hosting.
With all the add on/ins there are for DA I have a hard time believing there is no option for a mail virus/spam filter. This is an addon I would gladly pay for. If it is in the works, is there an ETA?

Hi,

Indeed we have also cpanel servers with above configuration, and there are about 350 domains the server, and the load impact is very good, also the user can decide by himself to set mailscanner on or off.
