Hello all,

Sorry, if this question has been asked.

In http://www.site-helper.com/ftp.html ,FTP: This FTP user has access to the public_ftp directory only.
I am working on FTP section, not HTTP section.
The server has Anonymous FTP enabled.

Is it possible to create FTP users, so they will have full rights under certain sub-folder of FTP, but not from the root of FTP.
In other words, say to give someone uploading rights of
.../public_ftp/user/joe/
Instead of
.../public_ftp/

Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry, we don't have a feature like that. If you had the time and the will, you could try to set it up manually via /etc/proftpd.passwd and with different permissions etc.

I've just been setting up a proftpd server as well just to get to know the ftp server and for me the userguide was very helpfull. Now I only got the basics running, but I believe I read something about anonymous ftp's and how to secure them.
