Hi there

After contacting DA support.

.................
We don't support Enterprise 4 or CentOS 4 just yet, only 3.x. We should have a 4 version available in a few weeks.
.................

My question is, i have read that anyone has made to install DA on a clean install of CentOS 4.0.

So there is any way to downgrade the version from 4.0 to 3.4? Or installation is not that painfull on 4.0?

regards

I found this:
http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7076&highlight=centos4
and this:
http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7497
(instructions for upgrading 3.4 -> 4.0).

And I have seen other reports of people getting it to work on a fresh 4.0 install even though it is not officially supported yet.

I have contacted Support and the answer was very clear

............................
It's because DA comes as a precompiled binary and is not a script. So, putting it onto another OS will most likely meet with failure (e.g. its like trying to run a Mac binary on a PC).

There is no way

Thats true, for example centos to FreeBSD, however from the reports there doesn't seem to be a big enough difference between 3.4 and 4.0 to make DirectAdmin break if done properly.
