in this help item, DirectAdmin tells a way to optimize mysql.

but... why DA do not include this code by default ?
it has any negative result ?

If you leave it be, MySQL will just run with the internal defaults. Not a biggie unless you have a box that uses MySQL a lot.

I would think the primary reason why they do not include that by default during installation is because optimization has several variables. For example ammount of Ram, purpose of server etc.
At least for MySQL there is not ONE configuration that will yield best efficiency on all servers.
