Ability to add your own package items (SKINS)

I'm not sure I totally understand how this is to be used? Can anyone elaborate. It seems like something many of us have been looking for.

Yes I saw this, but I was was not sure of what the full scope of this was. Would this enable us to add our own stuff to the control panel without altering the skin?

For example, I want to market a search engine submission tool with certain packages, etc, etc.

It will allow external programs from directadmin to use the API and verify that a client has access to external services. eg: game servers, media servers, etc. We will be using it for a 'media control panel'.
