Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to add AAAA records to a zone in DirectAdmin's ''DNS Administration'' for all users, this would be very nice, and i think it would be a quite simple job for you guys because it is just another type of record.

Thanks in advance!

i've mailed directadming support about it, for now you can add AAAA records menually at /var/named/ like i do, i hope DA will add IPv6 support, it's pritty easy to make it.

apache2 supports ipv6 (you only have to give a --enable-ipv6 or something like that in the ./configure)

i think it will come when they upgrade to apache2

Does DA now support AAAA? I'm gonna buy DA but if it doesn't support AAAA, there is no reason why I would buy it.

Why DA haven't always supported that?? Isn't it pretty easy to add?

There are several issues involved in IPV6 support.

And I'd ask DA sales about all of them that are important to you:

Can DA be set to work on an IPV6 address?

Can DA be configured to setup and manage IPV6 addresses?

The second one above includes:

Accepting IPV6 numbers on all web administration pages requiring IP#s.

DIplaying IPV6 numers properly on all web administration pages showing IP#s.

Setting up IPV6 properly in DNS, in FTP, and in HTTP.

And of course, since most of us don't have access to IPV6, does DA allow entry of two IP#s for a single site, etc.?

I don't think the support is there, but they'd be the ones to ask.
