mod_perl with DA on freebsd 4.10-stable

Recently had a client order who needs perl module(s) support for his website. Installed mod_perl from the ports which failed to work (it worked once then never again) got rid of that now trying cpan. Any tips from anyone else who has used DA successfully on Freebsd 4.x with mod_perl ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried with cpan which simply does not work as it tries to install the 2.x version of mod_perl which will not work with apache 1.3.x which DA uses. Need some help on this one folks.

Figured out my problem mod_perl needs at least apache 1.3.33_1 and DA runs apache 1.3.33 with no revisions would any forum admin here be able to instruct how to upgrade apache safely without messing up anything in apache for DA? A guide on this subject would be helpful or directions as DA installs a custom apache.

doesnt customapache script install mod_perl ?

yes it does, I actually had to just update the DA using the update script and then chown the files to user:user as it ended up being user:apache instead which was causing the issue. problem solved :)
