Is DA using a customized version of Exim? I see a security patch released this 8th, and I wonder if I should patch it myself.

You can update it yourself, just make sure you have perl.o included.

I found this rpm when doing a search. it this a direct admin rpm, and is it the latest one?

It's the latest 3.x version. I'm working on making 4.23 rpms for all operating systems, so you can expect them in a while (week or two)
