Hi,

I've installed DA now on both RHE and FC1 VPSes on the Virtozzo platform and I've been trying to figure out why Apache needs over 2000 shmpages available in order for it to run. The cPanel installs I've done only uses 91 shmpages total including apache, bind, mysql, and spamd. Can anyone shed some light on this for why DirectAdmin's apache install needs so much more shared memory? Thanks for your help!

DirectAdmin may configure apache to have more idle processes by default that cpanel. Compare the two httpd.conf files together and see what the differences are. If you did run cpanel on a different server it could be that, since apache is apache and it not anything special by Directadmin.
