Hi there!

I am fairly new to using direct admin, and have been reading things over in terms of installing an ssl cert. I have the files loaded for the domain, but can not even begin to find the httpd file or know what to correctly put in the customized area for this to work. Every time I think I have the correct path and try to restart apache, it throws and error and knocks all my other sites offline. Could someone please help explain what goes into the customized area in lay-woman's terms? Am really struggling with this :(

Thanks,

Alegria

Are you trying to install an SSL cert for a domain, or a systemwide shared cert? Or a cert to allow secure control panel logins?

If a cert for a domain, that's fairly self explanatory; you can find help here (http://www.site-helper.com/ssl.html).

If a systemwide shared help, you can find help in these forums; search for "shared cert" (without the quotes).

If for a cert to allow secure control panel logins, well, you can find information in these forums as well.

Or you can look at my recent post under "3rd Party".

Hi Jeff and thanks. I've gone through the help listing already and have uploaded the files to the server for the domain. files being the certs. However, now I am not able to edit the httpd file without getting an error. Being a newbie at this and this being my first private cert install, I am not exactly sure why this keeps happening. I've also been looking throughout the server to find the actual httpd file, and can not locate it.

Suggestions?
