SSL Certificate on Server IP

What would I need to do to put a verified SSL certificate on the server owned IP address (such as from VeriSign or similar company). I want to put a verified certificate on the reseller site, but that site is running on the server IP and when I try to do it through DA it says "You can only add a certificate if you own the ip you are using". So I figure you have to do it manually from command line. Anyone know how to do this?? I am a newbie when it comes to SSL certs.
