Backup Feature

Don't know how wide spread this is .. just had one client complain .. of course as you know most clients dont back up their data anyway =/

From his ticket .. hope I can get some help on where to start looking or what the problem is ...


I'm trying to download a backup successfully. It downloads, I try to extract, and get an "end of file" error. It's apparently been a problem since early August, as I can't successfully extract any of my backups since then.

Can you extract the backed up file on the server using tar -zxf ?

Yes, it does appear that it extracted on the server

Ok ... my customer is back wanting an answer ..

Has anybdoy else had this problem?
User error? Download of the file is puking?
Any suggestions?
