Hi there,

I've been searching around the forums for a question like mine. And haven't been able to find anything that is the same. So where it goes.

I am starting a Webhosting company here in little New Zealand, and wanted to check out my options.

Although I am an IT pro, I am still new to CP's.

I wanted to know what software does DA support? And will DA's install process install all the supported software itself?

As in, it will install Apache, etc.

And does DA support Fedora? Specifically Core 2. If not, can you please tell me which OS DA supports.

Sorry to bother you with this question, it's just I haven't been able to find a post related to my question.

And from what I have found, I am assuming that DA supports, FreeBSD 4.x, and Debian.

Also, where can I find licensing information and prices? I have read somewhere about a "lifetime" license. But that had something to do with IP changes.

As much help as possible is much appreciated. You don't need to give an answer, a webpage would do fine.

Thanks,
Toto

Pricing

Requirements (os)
http://www.directadmin.com/install.html

And yes, it installs Apache and mysql. As well, it installs a pop3 server. I think it also installs Exim for mail delivery. There are probably a few other things it installs as well.

Pretty much though, do a base OS install and install DA and you should be good to go.

Thanks Protollix for the information. I'll be reviewing this very closely and seeing what out final word is.

But is there anywhere I can find what packages it installs? And where can I find a list of packages that are in the works or soon to be supported? Like Qmail, Dovecot, etc.

If packages are your main concern, checkout Installatron, a third party plugin for DirectAdmin. I think you will find your answers there.

http://www.installatron.com/

also login to the direct admin demo panel to see the basic services and email programs installed.

Thank you for the information. I'm just hoping that DA supports secure minded software like Dovecot and Qmail. Because with the increasing risk of running an online business.

I'm not really too interested into getting hacked or exploited by.

I just want to protect my investment.
