The hostname is server1.hostname.com, when directadmin send to root mail account it uses, root@server1.hostname.com does anyone know how to fix this because it needs to be send to root@hostname.com

As far as I know, there is no simple way to fix it. Hostname is used.

But, why do you need that?

well, when going to 'Administrator Settings' it says 'Server's Hostname' = server1.domain.com. which is good following the install guide however my Mail Queue is full with Recipient(s):<root@server1.xentos.eu>,

or is it allowed to use domain.com there, and at the second server using server2.domain.com? tried that works, however the guide says it can cause problems.

So what? Is server1.xentos.eu your hostname?

The only limit, as far as I know, of using domain.com as hostname is that, you wont'd be able to add domain.com into Directadmin as a regular domain in order to hold a site on it.

That's mail to the root user, maybe from things like logwatch and such.
You could edit your alias file and set the root user to an existing email adress, then you get these mails there.
