In a previous post direct admin said that DA could not be updated automatically if you use secure logins eg

https://www.servername.com:2222

Is this still the case or can DA automatically update even if we are using secure logins now?

Hope that made sense!

Hey,

I didn't realize they could be automatic... I'll have to look at that.

We use https for our logins and have no problem doing updates to DA.

While I believe there might have been problem in the early stages I don't think there is now.

At least not in my experience.

Yeah, I think DA auto updates itself . . .

I might add, that at this time, our autoupdate feature will try to connect to DirectAdmin using a regular connection, meaning non-https, so if you have it enabled, your panel will never know that it should go update. You can just keep an eye on the current available version # and click "update" from the licensing screen... that is, until we get the updater to also try https when http fails.

John said that in this post last year:

I just wondered if DA *could* update via https connection or if there was something I should be doing manually?

Hey,

OK, I found the auto update thing... There's a toggle in Administrator Settings to disable auto updates... Used to be automatic and now there's a toggle to choose which you want.

Also, looks like they have made DA to auto update using https as well.

Look here:
