Hello:
I am in the process of moving sites to my directadmin powered server from another server. The old server has several domains with user websites - mydomain.com/~user. How do I create this on the directadmin box?
BTW, I am the server admin.
Thanks!

Each directadmin user can host x domains (you set the package, you will want to have it at 1 for this, it its not at 1, the user can choose their default domain.) You need to give each user an account, and when they upload to their public_html, ~/username should bring you to their public_html.

I am not sure I understand....perhaps it will help if I explain how my server is set up...
Server is - server.com at IP 123.45.67.89
I am - admin; reseller - admin
user siteadmin has a site domain.com at 987.65.43.21 (shared).
I need to create a user named siteuser who's webspace can be accessed via domain.com/~siteuser/ NOT server.com/~siteuser.
DA will not allow me to add another user to domain.com at the reseller level - when I try it gives an error 'domain already exists'. When I login as siteadmin I do not see where to add the user to domain.com.

Ok, here is what I have done and it seems to be a decent workaround....
using same names as my previous post, I created siteadmin as a reseller on shared ip 987.65.43.21 with domain as domain.com. I then logged in as reseller siteadmin and created a user named siteuser. DA would not let me assign this user to domain.com, so I made up a domain name as siteuser.domain.com. I am able to FTP to 987.65.43.21 and login as siteuser and upload files. I am assuming that once I change the DNS I will be able to see siteuser's site at domain.com/~siteuser/, using DA's preview functionality.
however, this begs a few questions...
1. will siteuser be able to recieve email at siteuser@domain.com or will DA choke on that address as it believes that situser's website is siteuser.domain.com?
2. Should I set up an A record to point siteuser.domain.com to 987.65.43.21?
3. Should there be an MX record that points mail for siteuser.domain.com to mail server mail.domain.com?
Thanks for the help. Once I get this going I will write a quick how-to for other users who need this functionality.
