losing files after a few days???

Hi

I have a problem. I have uploaded loads of Flv's, swfs and their html files to the server. But every two or three days they just disappear. As you can imagine it takes hours to upload them again and even though these are just test files, i still need clients to be able to view these everyday!

Does anyone have any idea as to why they keep going missing??

Yeah but it's always these files, nothing else. I have around 100 files in one folder called "clients" and only these are deleted? If someone has hacked into my server then i am sure they would take, delete more....well.......interesting files then these ones!

Do you allow anyone shell access to your system? You should check your ~/.bash_history files for the user who owns the file, for root, and for the users who you allow shell access.
