View Full Version : cant receive mail

Hi, umm i just installed the filter to have it drop spam to a file $home/spam/spam and after i installed the filter i tried restarting spamd and exim but they are messed up now and they wont stop. even when i use killlall, it doesnt stop them. Now i cant recieve email but i can send em fine. Is there a way to fix this or restart all the email processes? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Make sure you've removed any changes you've made to the /etc/virtual/domain.com/filter file. You could also just add then remove a filter through DA and it should overwrite the settings.
as for "they are messed up now and they wont stop", more information would be required..any log errors would help greatly (/var/log/exim/mainlog)

Hi,
I removed the filter and restarted the box. Then mail started working again. Lastly i tried out jlasman's spamblockers and that seemed to work well. Everything works currently. Thanks!
