Just registrated a new domain and now wanted to add it.

Error:

Cannot create that domain

Details

Invalid Domain Name: <domainname>.ch

How to solve? Only 1 of 10 domains is used.

The < and > are not valid domain characters.

I know - I simply replaced with a placeholder the real domain name. I have used a domainname like hello.ch

You can roll your eyes all you want but until you give us the real error message we cannot help you. We need the real domain not "a domainname like." We need the real error message. Copy and paste it unaltered.

Read this (http://homepages.tesco.net/~J.deBoynePollard/FGA/dont-obscure-your-dns-data.html)

When you are ready to give us the real information come back and ask your question. Otherwise don't waste our valuable free volunteer time.

Hi Floyd! You shouldnt be angry. I know you have developed a great hosting solution combined with a perfect service. Back to problem. Now the domain is accepted in the same way I tried before - so maybe is it possible that DA checks if a domain really exists or is pingable in any way before it can be added? Because yesterday it was registrated, but not public. Now the DNS of the registry is updated and it works.

No it doesnt!
The only check DirectAdmin does is local DNS.
If the zone is present, you will receive an error.

My guess is that you perhaps had an extra space or forgot the . or something like that. If we had the real error message then we could have told you what happened.
