enabling suphp?

Hiya i had a vps and got lots of files and folders ownership belonging to apache instead of the user which i asked around and people was saying that i have to enable phpsuexec/suphp mode in the server

so was wondering how do i actually do that in directadmin?? im totally new to this and if there is any commands needed to do this, can anyone guide me how??

I have follow the steps above for my Debian DA but my apps still does not work. Is there any further steps needed to configure suphp to work with my apps?

How do I verify the SuPHP has been installed successfully?
