Rename Domain but also keep the old one

My client is using this domain for web and email (abc.com). Now this client would like to change to a new domain abc.my for website but still keep abc.com for the email.

What is the best practice to change this?

An alias would do what you want, but obviously more as well. Client could use both for email, both for website. If you don't want client to do that, just don't tell him he can or manually remove DNS entries so he cannot.
