Hello,

When installing new DA server, main domain name has been selected.
Server is accessible through that domain name.

Is it possible to change it? If so - how?

I guess it should be done through: http://www.bartas.lt:2222/CMD_ADMIN_SETTINGS

But is that enough?

Thank you,
Bartas

main domain name

I assume you mean "hostname."

Since you did not give us the domain name I will use example.com

When you installed DA you should have used server.example.com. Never use example.com or www.example.com since you probably want to use this for a web site.

But yes you can change the "hostname" from Administrator Settings.

Yep, I had 'hostname' in my mind.

Thanks for a quick reply, floyd.

Changing your hostname can have some consequences. I can remember Exim throwing errors because the new hostname was not added to /etc/virtual/domains, but it's been ages since I've changed hostnames. So perhaps I'm mistaken.

Always change the hostname through DirectAdmin, to resolve these issues. It will add the new hostname to /etc/virtual/domains. Note that it won't remove the old one, but that's not a problem.

On another note: your username is advertising a new movie, but it's not available on CD yet; are you telling us to grab it off the net? :D

Hello again,

One more question from the same situation.

Say I have changed DA hostname say from hp.old.com to hp.new.com (using Administrator settings).
Server is working perfectly.
But - there is no virtual server named new.com on the server. How can I add it?

Tried to do that from User level, but got a message "That domain already exists".

Where is the problem?

Thank you,
Bartas

Remove new.com DNS zone in DNS Administration and create the domain then. Geros dienos!
