Hi,
I've been using cpanel before and few other hosting and many of them use Horde webmail. Is it possible to add this feature for the coming version? I like the Horde feature and it's very powerful compared to existing webmail in directadmin.

or open webmail www.openwebmail.org is very nice. way more features/skins and doesn't run on php.

would be a nice alternative. not sure if would run on exim, but do check it out.

No webmail software should care at all about the underlying MTA.

Well written webmail software shouldn't care at all about the incoming email structure, whether Maildir or mbox.

Since neither OpenWebMail nor Horde IMP have decent, easy-to-follow websites, it's impossible to tell if either of them meet the criteria above.

OpenWebMail works with pop3 mailservers; Horde IMP requires IMAP.

Neither Squirrel Mail or UebiMiau webmail clients support mail filtering of any kind. Making filtering based on Spam score impossible. A major short coming if you ask me.

squirrelmail does - with add-on modules.

How do I add them on? I looked at the Squirrel Mail addons but did not know what one would be best/easiest to add to Directadmin. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'd like to see horde replace squirrel mail to. I just think horde looks a tad bit more professional.

I run horde on my DA server, runs fine without any problems.

What, if anything, did you have to do special, to make it work?

For example, did you have to make any changes so it would work with "user@example.com" as the login?

Did you have to do anything for it to figure out which domain to use for sending email?

Anything else?

Actually, when I was moving stuff over from my cpanel server to my DA server, I just tarred the horde directory up, (maybe grabbed a backup of the horde database, can't remember) and restored it on the DA server. It never complained about anything. I was amazed considering the mail directories weren't even located in the same place on the two servers. If you are interested, I can tar up the directory again and pass it on to you so you can try your luck.

It may very well "just work" because it's a script that calls IMAP, and all the work is in the DA IMAP server, already implemented.

I'd like a copy of the tar file if you don't mind, though...

Just in case :) .

Thanks.

You mentioning IMAP reminds me, I did have to go back and configure php to use a IMAP module or something. Horde complained the very first time I loaded it, but gave instructions on how to fix it.

I just posted a how-to for installing Horde.

Check it out here (http://directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4219)

Why not spend a few dollars and get DWMail. It is loaded with features, looks professional and is leand on the server. This way you don't have to worry about updating every module.
