File access with password

Hello everybody.

I have to create a simple Web site with some directory reserved only for users who have the right password.
I don't know exactly how to do that.
I know the .htpaccess file used by Apache but how to create the users and the users password ?
I suppose users must be created via DirectAdmin ?

Please, would you give me a step-by-step exemple to protect a part of a Web site with a user/password ?

Use file manager built into directadmin and you can set password protection there.
