What OS are you running on the PC your trying to login from.
I've seen this happen numerous time on vista with firefox. After entering the user and pass it suddenly bans you for too many failed attempts even though it is your first attempt and the login information was correct.
I'm not sure if this is a vista or firefox issue or a combination of both.

I use Mozilla Firefox and Windows XP.
I checked http://www.directadmin.com:2222/ and there isn't this problem...
The problem is already without click "LOGIN"...i go in site:2222 and after i reload and appears only blank page.
security.log says only: 2009:02:22-18:17:03: Adding IP to the blacklist file: /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/ip_blacklist

Either turn that feature off or whitelist your ip.

It explaines that ur ip is added to the blacklist.
Something must go wrong login in.
U should whitelist ur ip just in case.
And remove ur ip from blacklist ofcourse
Check this : DirectAdmin Help (http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=705)

The problem is probably occurring for some other reason besides the blacklist, then after the user tries a few more times, he gets into the blacklist.
The reason I haven't attempted to respond with a definitive example is best explained in the last bullet-point example in post #4 above.

I know how delete my ip in blacklist or insert it in whitelist (i have dinamic IP ;)).
I don't know how I go in http://www.mondoweb.net:2222, I refresh the page (F5) and DA blacklist my IP(and I say white page):confused:
In http://www.directadmin.com:2222/ this problem doesn't exists ;) the problem exists only in my server...why??
Thanks

You're adding to the try counter every time you refresh the page; DirectAdmin staff has posted on this problem before, and possible workarounds.

Hi, Its not only your server, mine too, Login into DA using admin account
click a link in the control panel and automatically blocked, no refreshing taken place
no failed logins, no nothing, just a direct block when clicking an item...
Down side is, i aint got a clue how to unblock my IP now, is there a way through SSH please?

I'm sorry but I don't have the time to do the search any more than you do.
I know it's findable because I caused the problem on myself a few days ago, and I had to search for it and fix it.
Perhaps someone else, more altruistic than I, will do your work for you :)

Well excuse me for asking, the only reason i asked if you could produce the link was
because of all the other replies i kept seeing from you saying it was already mentioned
on the forum and so on in the search results, evidently i assumed from that, that
you knew exactly where it was or had an idea....
btw, i had already searched hence finding this thread, so instead of being facetious in
your replies, helping would have been preferred, i dont know, perhaps even a search
term would have gone a long way, i didnt ask to be spoon fed but i also didnt ask the above
either, I would rather you not reply than the belittleing comments you just have to make...........

It seems like you want to be spoon fed since you want us to provide you with search terms. Figure out what your question is, take out the unnecessary words, and search it.

I would really hesitate to call this a bug ...
I am running DA 1.33.2 to 1.33.6 on over 50 servers, and the only time I EVER encounter a problem with login, is if the HDD is full. Logging into shell, deleting a few log files and a few older backups, and they were back in business.
I'll tell you the same thing we tell our clients ... it is awfully hard (if not impossible) to find a solution for an issue that cannot be re-created.
