Hyper-v and directadmin

Hello,

I want install directadmin on my new server. the new server is running server 2008 standard, with hyper-v. My 1e server was a debian server.

Can somebody tell me how to install direct admin (and wich linux distribution i need)

Just some info which could be usefull, we've are currently running serveral virtual Linux servers on Windows 2008 HyperV. Some of the have Directadmin running. We use the 32 bit Centos 5.2 version. We installed them with very minimal services and the use the setupscript to install Directadmin.

The servers are running now for a couple of months and we've had no complains of our customers of strange behaviour.

Just a little tip, first login to the virtual server and do a 'shutdown -h now' before shutting down a virtual machine.

If you're interested I can create a vhd with a install of CentOS 5.2 I'm sure will be suitable to use for a install of Directadmin. The only thing's you have to change is your hostname and ofcourse your IP information.

I'm also not a native speaker, don't be ashamed, just improve!

For anyone else who's still not sure what this is all about, Hyper-V is a Microsoft Virtualization product; you can run a linux distribution under Windows Server 2008 using Hyper-V (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/hyperv.aspx).

In my experience so far DirectAdmin will work fine on any virtualization platform.

I am currently running DirectAdmin on a Debian VM hosted on Citrix XenServer.

I'm running DirectAdmin on CentOS 4.7 for a year now on Microsoft Virtual Server 2005. I've managed to install the VM Additions on this machine to, so if my Virtual Server is going down, it firsts shuts down my Linux box cleanly.
Also time sync with the host is working and it has a hearthbeat, so the host knows that the guest is 'alive'

Currently I host 100 domains in this setup. Last night I went to the datacenter to upgrade my machine and try to run Hyper-V, but unforunatly my processors did'nt support it. (dual XEON 3.2)
