Clean install

I am having too many issues related to my install on CentOS 4.6, so I want to just change the OS to centOS 5.2.

I have another server I can move to, so my question is this:

1) Will my current install stop working if I tell DirectAdmin to change my OS?

2) If I change the IP of the old install to the IP of the new one, will DA on the old system fail right away, or is there a delay of some sort?

There is a delay; I'm not sure how long. During that delay DirectAdmin will continue to work. Even after DirectAdmin stops working, your server will continue to work; you just won't be able to use DirectAdmin.
