my welcome email is sent by admin@host.mydomain.com

how do i change to admin@mydomain.com?

and in the welcome email, how come the user password is

* irretrievable *

i create a user account and send him a email, shouldn't hime also recieve visible password?

Hello,

The welcome mail should include the password when the account it created.

When you click "Resend welcome email".. this is different in that the plain password is no longer available, hence it's irretrievable. This is because all passwords are one way encrypted for security reasons, so the password will never be able to be decrypted to send to the user.

and how about the first issue? how come the email is sent from admin@my.hostname.com?

where do i set a default outgoing email address?

The email is in fact sent by that email, but you can mask it up by changing the values for admin in :
User Panel -> domian.com -> Account Info / Stats -> Email/Name

This thread is currently looking into the hostname in the email headers, but it's still undetermined if there is a way to get rid of it.
