i've assigned two ip adderss to my box, and i also registered ns1/ns2 at my domain registrar by using these two ip address.

in DA admin, i've set ns1 and ns2 under admin setting, my question is:

do i need to do A record for these two ip?

when i go IP managed, shouldn't the status of these two IP show NS? (now the status is "free", my main server ip did show "server")

thanks

Hello,

The "status" on reflects the usage of the IPs for webhostings/user accounts. It doesn't represent the NS status. This is because having IP's as nameservers really doesn't affect webhosting at all.

okay, i also set my DNS server as

ns1.host.direct.com
ns2.host.direct.com

i just created a user account but found out the dns was set to

ns1.direct.com
ns2.direct.com

in the end i had to manual edit that domain's DNS, was that right?

Hello,

It should work by directly editing the zone.

You can also update the Users settings to hold the new NS's in case they create new nameservers by going to List / Modify Users -> username -> Modify username -> and set the NS1 and NS2 values.
