we are trying to login with the correct details via the secure direct admin port 2222 and it just keeps refreshing the login screen.

if it was a firewall restriction issue we wouldn't get to the login screen at all and the login details are correct as it gives no wrong user/pwd error (it does if we try the wrong login details)

it has been working fine for us for months so any idea's what may be causing this error ?

Very likely cookies are being interfered with. Either the cookie is not being written to your computer or the session file is not being written to the server.

Not necessarily. Many firewalls on pc's also limit or disable cookies.

There could also be a massive time difference between the server and the pc making the server believe that the cookie is expired.
