Hello,

I am going to buy a license for direct admin but I was wondering what I should take: Lifetime license or Monthly license. Lifetime is cheaper but do you need the technical support (longer than 90 days)?

Our first two licenses are monthly licenses; the balance are all purchased.

We've found that John is always responsive to our questions, which have dropped down dramatically after the first ninety days with DirectAdmin.

Of course this works for us because we don't need John to log into our systems; we generally understand how to make fixes we either figure out ourselves, or read about here, on the forum.

At some point in the future I'll probably convert one of those monthly licenses to a purchase but keep one (our RHL 7.3 DA testbed system) as a monthly license. That's the machine we test everything on, so it's good to have ongoing support for it.

If you think you need support, go the monthly license route; you can always convert it to a purchase license later.

Can you also rent extra "service" for a lifetime license?

I believe you could both get a lifetime license and a monthly license for a server.

That way you'd have a non-expiring license on the server, and continuing lifetime support.

However I don't know if the system will allow you to buy a monthly license for the same IP# that already has a lifetime license, and I don't know how Mark and John feel about that.

If you want the lifetime license but also want lifetime support, contact us and we can arrange some kind if subscription system for you. If you anticipate having very few problems, it might be worth it just to pay the $25 small-issue fee once in a blue moon.
