I am new to DirectAdmin and am only getting up to speed in managing DNS settings. After having created domains and thought everything was working OK, i received messages that emails being sent out from a domain were being rejected because they did not have Reverse DNS set up.

I've searched the forums here and read entries about creating the Reverse DNS simply by checking "Create Reverse IP Lookup" however I have not found any information about going back after the fact and adding the Reverse IP Lookup to a domain that's already created.

Can anyone give some pointers on this on where I can find this information?
Thanks so much!

Is reverse dns record normally supposed to be managed by the datacenter who host your server?

Not sure about this, other forum members may be able to give you more info.

Generally even if you set up reverse DNS on your server you won't be using it, unless your upstream host has done the assignment to your nameserver. And generally they don't do that unless you've got an entire C-class or more.

That said, if you know how to do it (read any of a few dozen available good references both in books and online) you can do it manually.
