Hi

I did something rather silly and setup a domain on our server with the same name as the server hostname (eg server.domain.com )

now any emails to the main account user is failing as its trying to send it to the local host instead of the domain

for example

DA login name: user1
Email address: user1@domain2.com

when ever user1 gets an email to trys to route it user1@server.domain.com and then fails, I have removed the server.domain.com from DA but its still doing it, I have looked though the exim configs but cant seem to find where the main users email account is setup

emails to the non main user accounts are working fine ( eg user2@domain.com )

heres a copy of a bounced email

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

david@server.domain.co.uk
(ultimately generated from david@domain2.co.uk)

david@server.domain.co.uk
(ultimately generated from david@domain2.co.uk)

if i look in the mail queue there are a load of frozen messages, that are mails from cron jobs, etc going to the main account holders email account

*** Frozen (delivery error message)
2008-03-15 01:09:41 david@server.domain.co.uk R=lookuphost defer (-1): lowest numbered MX record points to local host
*** Frozen

any one know how i can get the emails to normal ?
where emails sent to user1@domain1.com go to user1@domain1.com instead of localhost of user1@server.domain.com

thanks

fixed it now, not 100% sure what i did to fix it, might have been when i used custom build and picked ./build exim_conf
