Hello,
I want to change a server running dovecot to the mail server software earlier used by DirectAdmin. I just get to many errors that I cannot fix/explain and my clients requested it to change it.
Is it possible and if yes how can I do that?

There is no easy way back. But there's not really an reason why you're getting any errors caused by Dovecot unless the installation failed. Why don't you tell us some of the symptoms; maybe some of use can help you.

When we add a new user no emails are sent (to the reseller or the new user). Also other emails aren't sent (and aren't waiting in the mail queue).
In the logs we cannot find a reason why they aren't sent.

Are any emails coming into the users mailboxes at all?
You may need to have someone log into your server to determine the problem.
If your server is supplied by a datacenter as part of a server lease you should contact your provider for support. If you've got a full license you should contact DirectAdmin support (http://www.directadmin.com/support.html).
