If you know how to build shell scripts you could easily modify customapache to build apache 2.*, your problem stands in creating the configs... im considering trying on my test box sometime over the next week (or 2 ;))

Why would you want Apache 2.x anyway?

Why would you want redhat 8 when you have redhat 7.x?... apache 2 is the more recent of the 2... I assume it has more features, better performance etc

Its mainly because of the dos prevention abilities built in to the apache 2.0.48, that i was questioning the possibility. Anything to prevent my customers or my own site from being the victim of a dos attack is very helpfull.......without the costly solutions that are out there right now.
