View Full Version : Can I stop and restart undefined TODOVECOT ??

In the FAQ it says:
./build todovecot

**DO NOT ABORT the "todovecot" command. It can take a long time to convert everything.**

I can read ;-) But, I have a problem that there a few mailboxes with many GB's with spam in it. I want to clean them first... but I already started it...

Does anyone know what happens if I restart it ?

After lots of hours he was working on email 895.000 ...

I decided to gamble. I moved the /home/user/Maildir/new directory

and that worked.... he continues to the next domain...

You can abort it. You can run it as many times as you want.

But each time you restart it, it will move all the mailboxes from scratch, so you'll have lots of mailboxes with multiple copies of each message in it.

Of course you can delete all the created Maildir mailboxes and start it over.

Or delete all the mbox mailboxes for those that have been fully converted.

If you make a mistake? Well you've deleted good mail.
