Hello,
How many of you would be interstered in an automated installer for DirectAdmin?

That included the same programs as Fantastico and plus more?

We would obviously charge a fee per server for something like this. If anyone is interstered in something like this let me know...

:D :D

Actually, I'm about 80% finished with this already. I didn't plan to announce anything until beta, but I'd hate to see two people wasting time on the same feat. The auto installer I've been working on --which is entitled Installatron-- is integrated with DA as module of the PHP XServ API, which is an API I'm slowly putting together for in-DA scripts such as this. I plan to support as much as I can, even play with an upgrade feature, and whole heap of other things. Installatron will be an interesting addition to DA, that I can say for sure.

Don't you think it was rude to advertise your product in my post?

I DO! :D

ANYWAY, Is anyone interstered in something like this for a decent price?

Sorry. Didn't realize you'd take it as such, just letting you know, you know? ;)

*sigh*

Edit: What I was trying to prevent is you (or anyone, for that matter) getting under way on this & then have someone else release the same thing half way through your development process. I know it'd frustrate the heck out of me. Go for this, if you like, though. I'm not saying not to do it, I'm just letting you know what to expect.

I'm too almost finished developing similar product. First beta should be announced sometime next week.

Guys, I had it with this bulls**t.

Keep self promotion out of my thread and start your own.

Its not advertizing. You asked who would be interested we replied that we almost finished with similar products. All replies are directly on topic.

It is called self promotion. I'm trying to gain interest of a product and I got my possible "competitors" coming in here and say "Hey I got it done come to me"

Not self promotion? Bulls**t

In my outsiders oppinion, those guys were just trying to let you know they are also working on something close to the same, but since neither of them are done nor released any files, I do not see it as advertising... Just them trying to be helpful and let you know.

Either way its not something to get all bunched up over.

Well, last time I checked on this forum there is what you call a PM feature. THey could easily PM me or contact me us via the messenger as the information is in our profile or our site.

They went ahead and posted in my thread instead..

well, i think you are over reacting on this one host affect.

They just wanna let you know they are working on something too.
And you ask if there is any intrest, and they let you know they are working on something too.

I just started on something like it too. But i can stop that now.

By the way, l0rdphi1 is your thing gonna be free or something?

Hi,

The idea is good but I'm not sure I would trust you with that (no offense). lordph1 is here since quite a long time and developped a lot of nice tools :)

CyberAlien also did several GREAT skins...

How about developping another project?

I think you need to go elsewhere with your attitude. This is NOT what the rest of us here in the DA forums are accustomed to and it is NOT what we want to see here.

I am requesting that your posts be removed or at least edited because while it's apparent that YOU may not think of these things, you may want to keep in mind that there are quite a few persons who are underage that visit these forums to learn more about DA or get questions answered because they have DA as a control panel supplied by their host.

GROW UP and watch your language!

PS: in regard to your proposed project, not only would I NOT buy it from you but I would not recommend anyone else do either based on your attitude displayed here! Makes me wonder what your support would be like...

Well..... firstly, i've minced the profanity from your posts due to PM requests.

In all seriousness, I think you need to read full posts and take into account what other members are telling you, l0rdphi1 simply stated he had a similar project already in place, and that it was already around 80% complete, not in the slightest advertising or self promotion in my opinion, since he doesn't have a product to promote as of yet.

You have just blown this out of proportion. l0rdphi1 and CyberAlien are respected members of this forum. They were just stating they were working on similar products. Both of them had been in discussion of the technology to make this possible before DirectAdmin forum. (http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1686&perpage=20&pagenumber=1) Well rather than making friends you just managed in matter of 7 posts to piss-off some of the nicest people here...nice job!

I didn't mean to come off with my attitude as rude. Most underage kids even go around these words. It isn't exactly what you consider a "cuss word". The words used are normal words that can be used. If kids are viewing these forums then I'm sure that it isn't something they haven't already seen before from parents, school or them talking like it themself.

Don't come preaching to me telling me how to post and not to post. If you got something then handle it via PM.

Also, on your comment about our support I think you should just happen to read our company reviews. Our support is the best support you are ever going to find in a hosting company and our clients can 100% back our word on that. Don't come in here ditching our company support until you have experienced it first hand.

Have a good day!

So you using such terms makes it ok? And everyone wonders why kids think such things are ok.. no one will stand up and say it's NOT ok. And, just because YOU don't consider your words inappropriate does not mean that YOUR opinion is the general consensus and correct. Try to have a little more respect for ALL other users of this forum.. young or old. It's a matter of etiquette.

Don't come in the forums and start attacking others who are respected here when all they did was state that they were already working on similar projects.

You never have a second chance to make a first impression. Your first chance is gone. Personally, I don't know you nor do I know anything about your company's record for providing support. What I do know is it took 2 posts for you to start attacking others without justification. That does not go very far in gaining respect or support for a product that you will want the members here to pay you for. You might want to re-think your approach in the future. You have alienated your potential customers already.

The DirectAdmin forums are well known for everyone working together in a sharing and friendly atmosphere to assist others who have problems or questions, make our panel better and offer solutions to enhance it's use. To come in here and start attacking others for doing just that is not going to get you very far. Take my advice however you chose. I have been a member of this forum since June of 2003 and a DA supporter since before then and I have to say your display here is the most unfriendly I have seen to date.

Guys...I know everyone is a bit pissed. Let just drop the issue. Everyone knows how each other feels and we can now move on. We are a good sharing tight community. Let just remember for the future what happened, and move on. :)

Okay, time to get this thread back on track:

HostAffect, Please send me privately (using my email address in my sig, NOT by PM, information on your DirectAdmin auto-installer.

I will be happy to review it, and to test your software out on one of my testbed systems.

Also, please introduce yourself, either to me privately or to the entire community. You seem to be coming on strong, but with a total of 9 posts to DirectAdmin forum, 6 of which on this one thread, five of which are either angry or defensive or both, it's hard to know anything about you or the level of trust I/we should give you.

After all, I can tell from your website is that you don't even offer hosting with DirectAdmin; your webiste offers only CPanel hosting.

Try to remember that as DirectAdmin permits NO ADVERTISING, any thread, created by anyone, is open for discussion on the topic at hand. If you can't abide by that, then you really have no business posting here at all.

l0rdphi1 and CyberAlien, please keep me in mind as you develop your product as well.

We continue to install new DirectAdmin systems and would be very interested.

Thanks.

Jeff

Agreed.

Looking at your site, do you even offer DA as an option - I only see CPanel. How would you know the intricacies of the DA control panel, and how to integrate the features? I think the steady users of the CP will probably do an outstanding job as they use it day in/day out...

Have a nice day.

We're currently a new design which offers Direct Admin hosting. The current one doesn't currently offer it as of yet. New one will.
