i just installed directadmin and i am at mydomain.com:2222
it asks me for the user password.
what is it?
is there a default generated admin user/pass by directadmin? if so, what is it?
more importantly, why doesn't the DirectAdmin's install guide say anything about this perhaps ,most "IMPORTANT" issue?
i think i must be losing my mind....after install, i cant even login , this is frustrating.....
i really want to login to directadmin right now....

When you install DirectAdmin the password is listed as one of the last things on the screen.
To resolve your problem....
Log into your server as root using SSH
Type "passwd admin"
Choose any password you desire

what did not work?
DA uses your system accounts for access to the control panel. The user admin is the administrator of the Control Panel. Resetting the OS password for admin automatically resets the DA password for admin. It's worked for every version of DA I've installed so far, including the last version. I reset my admin password on one of my servers yesrterday using exactly this method.

okay to be more precise, this is now whats happening.
first i assigned my admin's password to 'admin' via passwd admin
now i try to login with it, what happens is that, it just takes me back to the login page.
the the interesting thing is that, if i login with a totally wrong password, it says, "Invalid login. Please verify your Username and Password" error message.
but if i login with the newly assigned login password, it gives me no error message. just back to login page.
so it seems the problem is deeper than the password itself.....
this was all off a fresh da install i just did like an hour ago on Centos 5
can someone please help me?

Check your browser settings, it may have something to do with that, otherwise it's problably your installation.
Mail DA Support with a link to this topic, maybe they know the answer.
