phpmyadmin problem.

I have set the phpmyadmin root password in the configs, but I can't login with my root account. I'm on a VPS with directadmin. I have no clue how to use that either, and how do I setup private nameservers?

My main question is: How can I login with the root account to phpmyadmin? Why doesn't the password I set work for it?

perhaps it is old passwords problem , you can check the password from the ssh try :
mysql -u root -p
then type your password

Nope the password I was given for ssh/DA admin didn't work for that. The host now tells me its an unmanaged server -_-.

I don't get why it wouldn't work. I set the password in the phpmyadmin config.inc.php file.

is it new Directadmin copy? the root password for mysql will be in /usr/local/directadmin/scripts/setup.txt
