404 error

Kan iemand mij vertellen waarom ik een 404 error op mijn site krijg. Als ik ingelogd naar de public site ga, werkt de index file (en de rest). Ga ik gewoon via internet - browser, krijg ik de melding.

Hi,

Sorry, the language is Dutch.
Here my problem in englisch.

I use dreamweaver to built my site. I copied the files to the public area of my website. When I'm loged in it works fine. When I try to connect via the standard internet en browsen I get the 404 error.
I also tried to built the site with Frontpage. Thats works.

Is there something I do wrong???

What do you get when you use http://1.2.3.4/~username ?
(where 1.2.3.4 is your IP)

Make sure that the index.html is in /home/username/domains/domain.com/public_html (or /domains/domain.com/public_html from the filemanager)

Hi,

When I use this when I'm loged in it works. You can see, my index.htm stands on the normal spot

http://www.njoy4u.nl:2222/CMD_FILE_MANAGER/domains/njoy4u.nl/public_html/Index.htm

When I'm using http://www.njoy4u.nl, I got the error

~username is the username of the account.

I think you've fixed it.. I get the correct website for the main link. The Index.htm should be index.htm (which you've probably done).
