IP address as URL

I remember reading somewhere, and I can't seem to find it now, that there was a way to access specific domains via the IP address. I remember it looked something like this:

Code:
http://IPADDRESS/~USER/domains/DOMAINNAME.com/public_html/

This doesn't work and I've tried a dozen variations of this URL. Does anyone know the correct way to execute the domain via IP Address?

I'd like to rebuild an existing site (on a different host) on my server. This is why I need access via IP Address, but all DNS info is pointed to a different host.

Any help?

Interesting. So if enter IPADDRESS/~admin I get the first domain I've added. This can actually be tested as true on anyone running DA (at least the 3 I checked). But I cannot navigate to any other domains, nor can I access the 1 (and only) domain for the second user. I get a permissions error as listed above.

You stated that it wasn't active, but this did work for me about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I wish I could find that info.

Sorry, but I'm not sure about what I mentioned before. You should read the submitted url and/or search these forums or request John for info.

I found this on a FAQ page of a DA hosting site.

YOUR INITIAL WEB SITE
Your initial (nearly-empty) web site home page is accessible at these URLs, where DOMAIN is the initial domain assigned to your account and USERNAME is your username.
http://www.DOMAIN/
http://IPADDRESS/~USERNAME/
http://HOSTNAME/~USERNAME/

There seems to be a permissions error across the board. If the DA did restrict this kind of access, I'm curious as to why?

smtalk, I did see that and the USER has their only domain set to default. I still get the "403 Forbidden" error.
