When a user named "abc" with domain "myabc.com" is created, he automatically get its Email account "abc@myabc.com" with the login "abc".

However, when he create another domain "mybbc.com", another email with the same login "abc" mapping to abc@mybbc.com will be generated!

Eventually the user cannot receive email either sent to "abc@myabc.com" or "abc@mybbc.com", neither can he check the email!

How to solve this issue????

But I thought you wanted to *disable* him from creating any? Maybe I'm not sure what you're after here.

Just want to not create a new email address with his username as the login when the user is created~

But he can still create his own email!

Can I?

It's still some problem concerning the default email address of the user!

I have tried to send a email to the default email of the user I just created, the email cannot be received!!

Oh.. it really gives me a headache..

Do other emails work on different accounts?

The odd thing here is that I have the email l0rdphi1@ setup on multiple domains on the same account without any problems.

It works great with the email that manually created!
for example jeffery@123.com and jeffery@456.com have different login, but for the default one,

two email address will have the same login name?

l0rdphi1

No, they won't have the same login; the login for jeffery@123.com is jeffery@123.com and the login for jeffery@456.com is jeffery@456.com. :)

Hello :)

Those email accounts all go to the same account. The email accounts that use the DA login username all point to the system email account, so the same login is used. All email starting with that username to any domain owned by that users will be forwarded to the system email account... and will all be recieved by checking that account.

If you want to make sure that the domain forwarder to the system account is setup correctly, then just check /etc/virtual/domain.com/aliases and look for a line that says:

username: username

That's what takes the email from username@alldomains.com and forwards it to the "username" system account.

It make sense! but.. when I try to send a email to those account, e.g. a@123.com, a@224.com, a@5.com with login "a" all the same.

I cannot receive anything! but the created one is working greatly!

I have tried to send a email to all accounts, neither of them can receive a mail!

Any clues????

Hello,

What's your catch-all set to?
Do you have a pop account created for the other email addresses?
What does the /var/log/exim/mainlog say about it.

John

I have searched for the forum about this issue and eventually this may be the problem of my server name conflicts with my sub domains!

I am able to receive email now but it's quite unstable (sometimes received very fast and sometimes very slow).

Maybe it's not a big problem now!

I also discovered that my domain resolves any subdomains!
that means ping *.mydomain.com all have responses, will this be the cause of the conflict??

Jeffery, I too have been experiencing problems with 3 of my sites catch-all accounts. I am not certain if a mistake was made in a reinstall of DA or if there is a problem with the new version of DA. (I'm not an admin of this box just a user)

My problem is that the domains default account e-mail address used to be functional as a catch-all. After a DA reinstall all of my catch-all e-mails just vanish like they are being sent to :blackhole: even though the catch-all for each account was set to deliver catch-all mail to the default account.

What I did is, add to each domain a POP account specifically for catch-all. I then with DA changed each accounts catch-all to point to these new catch-all POP accounts. Everything has worked great since.

I suggest setting up each sub-domain account with a name that you will not be using for e-mail. Then add a catch-all POP address for each sub-domain and in DA set each sub-domain's catch-all to the new catch-all POP accounts.

AcountNameOne@123.com
catch-all POP = catchall@123.com

AcountNameTwo@224.com
catch-all POP = catchall@224.com

AccountNameThree@5.com
catch-all POP = catchall@5.com

E-mail sent to:
a@123.com should go to catchall@123.com
a@456.com should go to catchall@456.com
a@789.com should go to catchall@789.com

I realize the above procedure is usually not necessary, but until I figure out exactly what is wrong this has worked for us.

I hope this works for you too. :)

Cheers!
