please add a button to select all (and subsequently mark as read/unread/delete) all messages in the admin message system.

it would be helpful for those with 200+ messages to delete

As far as I can see this is only enabled now (DA 1.31.0) for the ticket system. It would be great if the message system has a similar functionallity.

Does this option now exist? I am on version 1.35.1 and I am having to delete over 3k of messages one page at a time.

Is there a delete all button or a place from the command line that I can clear all the messages in the message system?

Thanks

In the message system click Advanced Search and choose how many you want to show on a page. You can delete more per page that way.

By clicking each one? lol

Ofc, we can add a tick box then supply some javascript to select every box displayed...... or more useful, have an option to disable notifications per user for the message system (for backups, as ive a lot)

I am not sure what you are lol about. Of course not by clicking each one.

Wouldn't that be a little redundant since its already there.

I know what you mean. There is a select all link already there if you are using the enhanced skin. The more you lol and rolleyes the worse you are going to feel when you finally get it.

1. Click Message System
2. Click Advanced Search for the messages
3. For the Items per page select All and then click Search
4. Click the Select link at the top of the column of select boxes which checks all the boxes.
5. Click the Delete Selected button.

Oh yeah, sorry, it was really obvious to click a text link when most other sites have a check box for that.... If I missed that, you think an average Joe Bloggs wouldnt?

That would be me, average Joe. Actually below average according to my high school records.

I thought is was pretty obvious to click Select especially when every other column heading is clickable. I figured clicking Select must do something.

Different programs and web sites have different ways of doing the same thing. For instance roundcube does not have a Select All link or box. So did they just totally miss having that functionality? Absolutely not.

Sometimes we just have to assume its there and then look for it. Most of the time when we take that approach it only takes a few seconds to figure it out.

We cant even edit the skin, as it looks like its hardcoded

|MESSAGES|
&
|TICKETS|

And per roundcube, I dont have it installed.

I just used roundcube as an example. PhpMyAdmin uses a Check All link, no box. In Squirrelmail when you click what looks like a select all box it actually sorts the mail. You have to click the Toggle All link to check all. Webmin uses a Select All link.

My point is that your saying "most other sites have a check box for that" is really not fair. I have named 4 other popular pieces of software that do not use the checkbox method.

The Select link is used all over DirectAdmin, not just in the messages and tickets. If it were just a box then that would be even more confusing IMHO.

Click on the header to set the checkbox for all lines on the page.
