Probably you have popb4smtp installed and Outlook did authenticate himself by "popping" before you sent the mail.

hello,
I want the user to authenticate every time when he sends mail. If i send the same from command prompt it shows "authentication required".
Does any one know how to disable to put the already authenticated IP's in /etc/virtual/pophosts file.
Thanks.

Truncate /etc/virtual/pophosts and kill the process da-popb4smtp.

Hello,
There is not authentication when i send mail from any id of abc.com to any id of abc.com from outlook. abc.com is having mailing on my DA server. How to prevent that.
Thanks.

I want to make sure I understand you... are you writing that abc.com is on your server and if you send email to abc.com, using your server as your smtp server for your local desktop system, that you still want it to require authentication?
Impossible.
Why?
Because smtp has to accept unauthenticated email from the world for valid users in abc.com, or else it wouldn't accept any email from the world. Your desktop system is part of the world.
