unable to delete a user

i got an error when deleting a user via the control panel, so i deleted manually. however the user shows up in the control panel just gives an error beside it say "error reading file"

any suggestions?

Never remove a user from linux. Try readding it and then removing it using the control panel.

There was a previous topic about this one, can't seem to find it now.
